New Products I’m Currently Trying

How’s it going all? It’s a rainy weekend which means it’s an indoors type of day where I get to catch up on blogging! I have been shopping quite a bit – probably a little too much for my own good but it’s been super fun. I’ve more or less racked up a new wardrobe however for today, I want to discuss some new products that I’ve been trying out lately that are “new” to me. I am terrible when it comes to actually being on-trend. I generally buy products on the whim or products that has been on my list for a while and well, here they are in all their glory…or not. You shall see. New in Bodycare I’ll start with my first disappointing piece because from memory, it is the oldest from my “new collection of things”. It is the Avene Mineral Fluid SPF50+. I bought this over a month ago – actually on my first week when I had just started my new job. Although I needed a new sunscreen, it was …

Why I Stopped Using Dry Shampoo

I’ve been dry-shampoo-free for a good couple of weeks now. I would consider myself to have gotten on the bandwagon quite late (probably two years ago or less?) but as it happens, I’m completely off it now. The truth is, if you’re not careful, you can become very dependent on dry shampoo. It’s so easy. Too easy. I’m not here to tell you not to use the product at all by the way but as with everything else in life – moderation is key. And if high-school-me had discovered this product back then – gosh, I would’ve considered it my saviour and blessing. I was that girl who’s hair would get greasy from the roots on the second day. Maybe even after a day and a half. It definitely didn’t help either that I had jet black locks and at one point – bangs. It was one of the things that I was embarrassed by; and as luck would have it, I’d go into school half the week looking less than great but you can also …

you win some, you lose some; and it’s okay because life’s so rich

I don’t normally ‘do life updates’ and wouldn’t as so much call this one either (despite the tag!), but I really want to make this post, so take it as you will. The reason why I wouldn’t exactly call this a life update is because I strongly think everyone’s life is somewhat private and they always retain that right for it to remain so. I always think that bloggers, vloggers and celebrities don’t owe anything to us. That’s not to say they shouldn’t owe it to us for their fame and success – but let’s get real, they really don’t owe their lives to us. As that means feeling sorry rather than being thankful, in which case, you should owe it to yourself. Be thankful.  If you spend your whole life owing it to someone else, particularly if you’re famous and successful so to speak, then…when is it ever going to stop? Probably never. Learn to owe it to yourself: be thankful for the life that you have created for yourself. And if not, it’s okay – work …

Coffee Break: Get To Know Me More

Today I thought I’d do a different post as it’s truly been a while since I sat down and chatted to you all about…well, me. I’ve been posting a lot about beauty and skincare lately and whilst that’s very close to my heart, I want to start chatting about the more important things in life such as self-care, and in the broader spectrum of things, some political issues. I think that’ll be my next instalment for the blog in the new year, but for now, please grab a coffee break with me. 🙂 These are just some facts about me illustrated by some photos I’ve taken myself… I won’t be numbering anything but rather, just let my mind do its thing. Feel free to join in and make your own posts/comments? This isn’t dissimilar to the ‘100 Facts About Me’ tag etc. but there is less restraint I suppose. If you couldn’t tell, I love taking pictures of coffee when I’m at a coffee house – even if it’s just a Starbucks or Costa. Even …

Talk: How I feel about the proposed ‘See Now, Buy Now’ structure

Article/Source of Discussion (but not limited to):* How will ‘See Now, Buy Now’ fashion shows affect beauty brands? – Fashionista Karl Lagerfeld on the State of Fashion: ‘It’s a Mess’ – BoF Burberry announces a See Now/Buy Now system for new collections – NY Times Gucci rejects See Now Buy Now fashion calendar – Vogue The Current State of Fashion – See Now, Buy When? – The Fashion Law *There are many, many more articles surrounding this debate as of now.   Where many Creative Directors have been coming and going in the past year, the possible new proposal of a See-Now, Buy-Now operation has certainly rattled the Fashion Industry more than ever. This is a new type of visionary that isn’t just affecting one brand but effectively, all of the luxury market even if only a few have agreed to it. Notably, Burberry and Tom Ford have taken to the idea and already confirmed that they’d adhere to the calendar starting from next season. But as the question goes: how will it even work? It’s a …
