I’m Back! + What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting

Hello all! It has been a time. I came back from Hong Kong a few days ago and honestly, it’s a little disappointing to return to weather that hasn’t changed much more than when I left. Even worse – we seem to have hit the rainy and windy season! It’s good for staying indoors though so there’s that. ūüėõ I’m still a little jet-lagged which is unusual but I really think it’s down to us trying out an earlier flight this time rather than the late one we always take. By the time we officially came back to our home (because we unluckily missed the initial coach by like 5 minutes and had to wait a further 2 hours for the next one AND pay for new tickets), it was 03:30. I ended up eating 3 meals after that, watched a film in-between at some point and finally crashed at 20:00. Some of you may have been following my Instagram Stories or may have just simply caught up with my latest post and realised that …

One Door Closes, Another Door Opens

There’s no other way to say it so I’ll just say it. As of Tuesday, I’ve been formally dismissed from my work. I failed my probation. But don’t threat, I’m actually not in a bad mood. Yes, of course I am a little disheartened but overall this feels like a very good breakup. (It’s strange but that’s the only way that I can describe it.) I didn’t know how I would feel because quite frankly, I have never failed anything. Like ever. But somehow, I felt this huge rush of relief flow through me yesterday when the outcome had been confirmed in a confidential meeting. Considering what had imploded in the past few months, it was probably wishful-thinking to think that I was ever going to pass. I wanted to keep that hope alive though because it’d suck to exit without trying and fighting and for the person that I am, I give my 110% in everything that I do. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t but hand on my heart, I tried my …

The Sunday Catch-Up #4 | General Life Update

It’s July now and as I was checking the last time I made a post in this series, it was actually¬†last July. How crazy is that? I have no idea what happened but I’m bringing the series back into play! Sundays are probably my most chilled out day where I can make some time for writing a post at the moment so I’ll try and make that an aim this month. I know I’ve been rubbish with updating the blog in the last couple of weeks and truthfully, I don’t know where else to fit the time except Sundays. Though of course – I haven’t posted in three weeks which in blogging terms is a long time but please bare with me as I transition into a new path in life. (Read below) Note:¬†Just so you know – I have still been reading blog posts! There are some comments I need to reply to though so I’ll get to that today too – sorry for the delayed response! In case you didn’t know… I started …

Life Update: New Job, New Everything, a Plan B

I’m not someone who does a life update as such…I would even consider myself as quite a private person but since there are two major things we spend a lot of hours doing in our life – working and sleeping, I thought I could at least update you with one of those things. As you may know from one of my recent posts, I have a new job that I will be starting in June! It has been a bit of a struggle to find new direction – tough even so I’m happy to be able to move forward and take a plan B. It was quite the challenge for sure and through it, I faced some of my fears which actually were not so fearful. Even now, I haven’t quite processed the news but I’m sure once I start, it’ll be quite the journey. There is a 4-week induction period and overall, a 6-month probation. This is all very new territory to me so I’m not quite sure what to expect. On interview day …

you win some, you lose some; and it’s okay because life’s so rich

I don’t normally ‘do life updates’ and wouldn’t as so much call this one either (despite the tag!), but I really want to make this post, so take it as you will. The reason why I wouldn’t exactly call this a life update is because I strongly think everyone’s life is somewhat¬†private and they always retain that right for it to remain so. I always think that bloggers, vloggers and celebrities don’t owe anything to us. That’s not to say they shouldn’t owe it to us for their fame and success – but let’s get real, they¬†really don’t owe their lives to us. As that means feeling sorry rather than being thankful, in which case, you should owe it to yourself.¬†Be thankful.¬† If you spend your whole life owing it to someone else, particularly if you’re famous and successful so to speak, then…when is it ever going to stop? Probably never. Learn to owe it to yourself: be thankful for the life that you have created for yourself. And if not, it’s okay – work …
