Epiphanies, Thoughts and Expression

If there is one way to see 2020, then see it as a life lesson. Irrespective of Covid, a lot of other crises has occurred this year since it has come into existence; and being one of those people who always think everything happens for a reason, I feel that this year is the greatest life lesson in itself. How can we be more present? How can we enjoy this moment when it’s hard? How can we be more productive with our time, especially when finding so much of it free right now? I got rather anxious at some points of the Covid lockdown…and it was not nice. But sometimes it’s about falling into a pit of bad before you can appreciate the good and finally see the light (even in Covid circumstances). Things get worse before they get better is a phrase I have heard often during this time period…and with Biden having won the American election recently, I think that may be right. Over the past few months, I had a tonne of …

I Became an Artist During the Pandemic

I haven’t blogged in months and now I’m back writing in a completely different light. For those who follow me on my Instagram anyway, you’re up-to-date. For those who may have discovered that I was missing in action or simply didn’t know that I existed until now, the main title is the update in a nutshell: I became an artist! Firstly, I hope everyone is okay in what’s been a turbulent 2020 to say the least. I know certainly for me, all the good came with all the bad both emotionally and mentally during the pandemic lockdown. For the first time in a long time, I had time to make art – time I always said I didn’t have (in order to make art). Suddenly with a lot of it, I thought I’d make do and before long, I realised that it was healing my mind and soul especially during the days when I was feeling rough. That’s how I know now that art therapy is totally a thing. As cliché as it might sound, …

My Busy Summer: Lessons in Self-Growth

Forgive me for having been absent from the blog for months. This summer just gone has been a whirlwind and quite frankly my busiest summer since…forever? It was nice though because I am not the type to book a holiday for next year. I do things in the moment or last minute which works well for some people and not so well for others. I am a spontaneous event planner. Somehow I found myself at a project after another and towards the end of my summer, I even went to Edinburgh for 4 days! Of course, these are all experiences accumulated from my new work but it was an unforgettable summer. I have met so many new people and whilst I can see more challenges ahead, it’s a start of something. A spark. Whether I should let it burn, ignite, is another story but I’m continuing the journey anyway. I haven’t written a life update since my last, so here’s a summary of events that took place this summer for me and what I took …

The Sunday Catch-Up #5 | Getting Back on Track

I don’t think I’ve seen my drafts box quite so low before! I don’t know if that’s necessarily a good thing or not but I’ve been clearing some of the old drafts and finally posting them so there’s that. Speaking of old, last time I wrote a post in this series was back in June and holding that thought just for a minute, I definitely think I need to do more posts like this that sprout from a stream of consciousness. There’s just something about writing what’s on your mind, in that moment, that makes me feel calm and present. Here are some of the things that have been lurking in my mind recently: New Content and Discussions Blogging has been quite stop/start for me in the latter half of 2018 but you’ll be seeing more of me soon as I aim to really discuss some new topics and let my eponymous blog grow to the potential that I want it to. I don’t mean it in a fancy way either – think of it …

Life Update: Settling In

Note: I drafted this post weeks and weeks ago but have only just edited the photos so by the time I post this, it’s not a recent experience that I’m referring to however I still wanted to get this up! Enjoy. It’s a Saturday and I’m officially doing nothing. It’s approaching the afternoon period and I’m still in my lounge wear and hoodie but that’s okay – I live for these moments and sometimes, it’s just nice to be super comfy. The summer has finally calmed down and I don’t mind so much because summer just aggravates my skin and my eczema can start to play up too. This cooler weather suits me just fine. I may or may not do my makeup later but for now, I’m enjoying having my skin bare as on most weeks, I wear makeup to work. I’ve been loving it actually. I thought I would hate morning routine but it’s now become one of my favourite things. What shall I wear today? It’s fun to play a bit of …
