Life Update: Settling In

Note: I drafted this post weeks and weeks ago but have only just edited the photos so by the time I post this, it’s not a recent experience that I’m referring to however I still wanted to get this up! Enjoy. It’s a Saturday and I’m officially doing nothing. It’s approaching the afternoon period and I’m still in my lounge wear and hoodie but that’s okay – I live for these moments and sometimes, it’s just nice to be super comfy. The summer has finally calmed down and I don’t mind so much because summer just aggravates my skin and my eczema can start to play up too. This cooler weather suits me just fine. I may or may not do my makeup later but for now, I’m enjoying having my skin bare as on most weeks, I wear makeup to work. I’ve been loving it actually. I thought I would hate morning routine but it’s now become one of my favourite things. What shall I wear today? It’s fun to play a bit of …

The Sunday Catch-Up #4 | General Life Update

It’s July now and as I was checking the last time I made a post in this series, it was actually last July. How crazy is that? I have no idea what happened but I’m bringing the series back into play! Sundays are probably my most chilled out day where I can make some time for writing a post at the moment so I’ll try and make that an aim this month. I know I’ve been rubbish with updating the blog in the last couple of weeks and truthfully, I don’t know where else to fit the time except Sundays. Though of course – I haven’t posted in three weeks which in blogging terms is a long time but please bare with me as I transition into a new path in life. (Read below) Note: Just so you know – I have still been reading blog posts! There are some comments I need to reply to though so I’ll get to that today too – sorry for the delayed response! In case you didn’t know… I started …

May in Progress

As I began a new job position this week, I managed to squeeze in some free time in the evening to write this post! So far so good – I’m in a really happy place at the moment and I can’t wait to update you more on this new part of my life but for now, my May in Progress! General Lifestyle I’m generally more mindful of everything that I do now and therefore making more rational lifestyle choices. For example, if I’ve already had a cup of tea, I would perhaps have another one a few hours later but never a third. In addition to the last point, I am reading more information on food packets, on different fitness regimes etc. in order to get me thinking about these different areas. Although I’m not necessarily counting my calories or my steps, accumulated actions do have consequences and I’m thinking more about that. This has actually really helped ease bad habits and phase them out. Thinking about it now, my mood has been mostly neutral …

April in Progress

Without a doubt, this is a late post in-the-making for today’s summary of how April went. That month is a blur to me and having just checked the date properly, I don’t even want to think about time! I honestly feel like I’ve only just come back from Hong Kong so in my mind, it is still technically February. 😂 The bipolar weather doesn’t help either – we had a fantastically glorious bank holiday weekend but that changed quick as soon as it hit Monday. It has gotten cooler by the week that now I’m constantly dressing in my “in-between” gear. I have been mostly absent from the blog this month up until now as I’ve been busy with applications and preparing for interviews that at last – success! I can officially announce that I will be starting a new job come 4th June. ☺️ There will be many new changes mentally and physically which I’ll elaborate on in another post as a means to update you on the going-ons in my life. But for now, let’s …

March in Progress

I am enjoying the pun in the title slightly too much. 😝 Now that we’re in April (!!), I wanted to summarise March almost in diary-form (I say almost since this is a monthly affair, not daily). Did you guess? Today’s tone is more casual and a stream of consciousness. This is in response to my earlier post, Embarking on a Fitter Journey + Why, and will be the first of many. I wasn’t initially going to write progress posts but I think this exercise will benefit me greatly. Sometimes it’s too much to keep up with new changes and habits, so it’s just easier to record it in one place so that I can unravel my thoughts and decide what works, what doesn’t. Also – I figured that being open has helped A LOT in this process so far, so why not continue being open? General Lifestyle I am waking up earlier and have been slowly improving my morning routine which includes making my bed, having a good breakfast, a quick but effective skincare routine. …
