If We Were Having Coffee #4

This time it’s Mocha. Thank you for the love in my last If We Were Having Coffee session! I might make these a monthly/bi-monthly series to keep it going more consistently throughout the year – what do you think? I love writing them as it keeps me in-tact with my thoughts so it’s definitely an idea. It still continues to be a busy month but I just saw off the end to a project last week and am starting a new one next week at work with small projects in-between. A part of me just thinks I’m not made for an easy life but sometimes the rewards are sweeter. If we were having coffee, I would tell you: I am going through a journey or two right now where I’m facing a lot of my fears and in the process of defeating them. I may have mentioned in a new year goals post that I wanted to make 2019 a year about me, for me. It’s over halfway through the year and I feel that …

If We Were Having Coffee #3

(Or tea in this case.) It’s June: my birthday month. It doesn’t feel like June though. This time last year the sun was blistering for a good few weeks. We had quite a good summer actually – the hottest in all recent years reminiscent of how it was like in my childhood. I even took out my electric fan because my room gets super hot when it’s over 25 degrees. This year, it is a different story. We seem to be weirdly reversing back to winter again especially this week – averaging about 14 degrees! It’s doing well for my skin though so there’s that. I thought I would do a catch-up post because it’s been a while yet again. I may look to do a separate life update altogether but for now, let me update you on my current thoughts in a stream-of-consciousness style. If we were having coffee, I would tell you: This year has been a really tough year so far although it has gotten slightly easier. I am persevering though and …

If We Were Having Coffee #2

Hi everyone! My internet has been absolutely rubbish for reasons that I do not know. To put it straight, it has felt a bit painful to surf the internet and/or blog with fear of things not saving and I just hate that. I can’t believe that that’s probably the speed of the internet that I used in the 90s. Yikes. Anyone else ever use the NTL cable internet circa 1999? It was horrific! Anyhow, I am in a chatty mood right now with a craving for coffee. I’ll wait though but by all means, grab yours and we shall have a catch-up! čśŐ If we were having coffee, I’d tell you: I’m in the process of moving! It is almost there – I just need to bring more clothes over and one or two more pieces of furniture and I’m all set. I’m not moving anymore far – just to my brother’s spare room but it’ll be so nice to have a new space prior to starting my new job. I’m especially excited to re-organise …

If We Were Having Coffee #1

Today is one of those days where I’m feeling a bit “bleurgh!” but despite so, I want to write to my heart’s content. It’s a healthy habit don’t you think? I don’t smoke. I don’t drink. Certainly don’t do drugs but I’m learning to write more, especially when it comes to styles that display my stream of consciousness. If you were to open up my brain (well let’s be honest, that’s dangerous and I’d probably die), then here are the lingering thoughts that you’d see. Or on a lighter note, if we were having coffee, I’d tell you: I don’t think I can share enough in words of how freeing blogging makes me feel and the sanity that it gives me. Am I allowed to say that it makes me feel secure and very real as a person? Am I insecure for admitting so? There are moments in life – especially now more than ever, where I feel a bit alienated and patronised however I don’t believe in retaliating. Creativity is a great thing when …

Why I Stopped Using Dry Shampoo

I’ve been dry-shampoo-free for a good couple of weeks now. I would consider myself to have gotten on the bandwagon quite late (probably two years ago or less?) but as it happens, I’m completely off it now. The truth is, if you’re not careful, you can become very dependent on dry shampoo. It’s so easy. Too easy. I’m not here to tell you not to use the product at all by the way but as with everything else in life –┬ámoderation is key. And if high-school-me had discovered this product back then – gosh, I would’ve considered it my saviour and blessing. I was that girl who’s hair would get greasy from the roots on the second day. Maybe even after a day and a half. It definitely didn’t help either that I had jet black locks and at one point – bangs. It was one of the things that I was embarrassed by; and as luck would have it, I’d go into school half the week looking less than great but you can also …
