December Monthly Favourites ft. LUSH, DIOR and Maybelline!

The last Favourites instalment of 2017 has come late but it is here! Not too many favourites for this month which I know is a bit strange because it’s supposed to be all festive and fancy but honestly, I was very au naturel throughout the month. I also didn’t try anything majorly new but I’ll be sure to have some new things to show you next month. 🙂 Featured in this post: LUSH Pink Peppermint Foot Lotion LUSH Oaty Creamy Dreamy Shower Cream DIOR Miss Dior Eau de Parfum Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer in ‘Light’ Because This Is my First Life (K-drama) Feet is weird to talk about but let’s do it: I know. How is it that I’m talking about a foot lotion on my blog? Why can’t I just use regular lotion for my feet? (Damn you marketing.) I bought LUSH Pink Peppermint Foot Lotion along with a foot mask at a time when my feet were really dry of which, if you have ever experienced this, it can be quite an uncomfortable experience and …

November Monthly Favourites/Current Winter Staple Kit

How it is even the last month of the year now is beyond me. But I do love this coat season and the opportunity to pull the scarves and layers out. Are you hyped for Christmas? I am so-so but gift-wrapping a couple of presents over the weekend has got me in the spirit a bit! 🙂 This month’s favourites is a bit of a 2-in-1 post as it features products that have been saving my face, body and hair this winter! Are you ready for it? It is my current winter staple kit. Featured in this post: Nivea Creme Soft Shower Cream Dove Purely Pampering Body Lotion L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oils Shampoo Simple Soothing Toner Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask Benefit Porefessional PRO Balm Primer New shower favourite and now I have back-ups:  I tried a LUSH shower gel some time ago (that will be in my Empties post soon) and honestly, I was sad to have spent money on that because I felt nothing special. (In case you didn’t know, LUSH is …

Why I Stopped Using Dry Shampoo

I’ve been dry-shampoo-free for a good couple of weeks now. I would consider myself to have gotten on the bandwagon quite late (probably two years ago or less?) but as it happens, I’m completely off it now. The truth is, if you’re not careful, you can become very dependent on dry shampoo. It’s so easy. Too easy. I’m not here to tell you not to use the product at all by the way but as with everything else in life – moderation is key. And if high-school-me had discovered this product back then – gosh, I would’ve considered it my saviour and blessing. I was that girl who’s hair would get greasy from the roots on the second day. Maybe even after a day and a half. It definitely didn’t help either that I had jet black locks and at one point – bangs. It was one of the things that I was embarrassed by; and as luck would have it, I’d go into school half the week looking less than great but you can also …

A Beauty Haul + A Few First Impressions

I’ve been doing a whole lot of shopping lately; and this post doesn’t even cover everything that I’ve bought in the last month or so. In fact, I went shopping again on Sunday and bought some more beauty goodies. I’ve also invited a couple of new separates and outerwear into my wardrobe too but I’ll have to leave that for another post! I know some of my readers and fellow bloggers participate in no-buy months/spending bans and whilst I don’t think I’m a self-professed shopaholic, I do haves waves of going wild and this is a perfect example of one of them. I imagine that I won’t be shopping like this again until February when I’m away to Hong Kong for Chinese New Year so there: that is my spending ban planned out! 😛 I’d say this haul is quite equal parts in both makeup and skincare – enjoy! 🙂 Featured in this post: BarePRO Performance Wear Liquid Foundation SPF 20 (in shade ’12 Natural Warm’) Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel TONYMOLY I’m Real Sheet …

6 Months After Using More The Ordinary Skincare

I haven’t talked about The Ordinary in a couple of months (with the exception of favourites and empties post) so I thought now would be the perfect time to update you all on my continued experience since my last post. So far, I’ve been mostly impressed and it gives me joy that word has gotten around about this amazing brand. I’m almost sure that it needs no introduction now because it’s really taken the industry by storm. ‘Work until you no longer have to introduce yourself’, they say. That sums up The Ordinary’s situation; just that it may have happened much sooner than anticipated! They have done the unthinkable. Featured in this post: Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA Buffet Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10% 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2% Advanced Retinoid 2% Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% I will say though – the ONE product that I haven’t continued use with is the Vitamin C Suspension …
