Some changes.

Hi everyone.

This is just a quick announcement post to let you know of the (positive) changes that I’m putting forward on this blog!

I’ve been blogging (kinda) consistently for a good 3-4 years now and I feel that it’s finally time for it to move into a new chapter. I lost momentum with blogging/writing in the latter-half of last year and there’s really no excuse for this except to say that I didn’t keep up with it. I was even surprised to see I had as many views as I did in a couple of those months! But the truth is, I didn’t have a writing plan. A lot of posts I’ve written up until this New Year have been written days before upload. Sometimes even hours before upload. What does keep me going with this blog though is the fact that I do enjoy writing.

I’ve set some new goals for this year and one of them does concern the blog. I honestly feel that it’s time for a re-birth and re-growth where I discuss topics that I’ve always wanted to discuss and perhaps move the blog into a slightly different direction. Of course, I will continue to write about skincare and beauty however this will steer a slightly different direction too.

I have decided to forfeit my Favourites post-series entirely. Writing them just doesn’t excite me anymore and sort of feels unrealistic. I don’t even profess to use new products on a monthly basis and honestly? All my beauty routines have been the same for the past few months because I know what I like and what my style is. Ultimately, I think forfeiting this series will give me more freedom to write about other things that concern routine for example which would be more realistic and probably serve more useful to you. Plus, I’m in the state-of-mind of not buying as much as I used to because my collection is more than enough for me. This seriously does not need to expand and I’m sure I’m not the only beauty blogger who is thinking like this.

So far, I have the entire month of January planned out and I can’t believe how much easier this has made blogging! (As in, I know what posts I’ll be putting forward on my post-days. They are not all scheduled yet.) This is my newly revised schedule at this moment:

Tuesdays: Lifestyle and Fashion

Fridays: Beauty and Make-up/Review

Sundays: Self-care, Mental Health, Advice-giving/Tips, Discussions

Note: The exception will be this week and next week since I’m in the middle of doing a big re-schedule. After that, the schedule should fully take place! ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s really it for today but just thought you should all know.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

  1. Good luck with your new schedule, I like the variety of topics you’re planning on. I’m with you on monthly favorites, some months I do have new products but most of the time not. Looking forward to your new posts!!

    • They used to be my favourite to read and watch but now they have become really boring to me! I think it’s because of the amount of product releases in recent years (therefore lots of free PR floating about) that just paints this unrealistic picture that some product is EVERYONE’S favourite. The authenticity has been lost since years ago.

I have kept my favourites as realistic as possible but I admit the last few were harder to put together!

Thanks for following you, means a lot. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Itโ€™s important to switch up your schedule/routine sometimes. Priorities and the amount of free time we have can easily change and itโ€™s surprising is adaptable blogging is ๐Ÿ˜Š looking forward to your future posts!

  3. Good luck with your new sched! Itโ€™s nice to see how youโ€™re really organized with everything. You do whatever plans you want with it, weโ€™ll just be here to support u! ๐Ÿค—

    • Thanks Amielle! Your comment really made my day ~~ ๐Ÿ™‚ I guess I am TRYING to be organised and so far so good.

  4. I really like your schedule and can’t wait to read your blog posts this year! Planning is definitely key when it comes to blogging – the problem is actually executing it and working ahead of your schedule haha. I’m often finishing up blog posts the week or even the night before the post goes up too!

  5. Oh yay! Looking forward to this new schedule on your blog. ๐Ÿ˜Š I totally agree that having posts planned out ahead of time really helps with writing & makes it even more enjoyable.

    • Thanks Hunida ๐Ÿ™‚ It has been a really positive month so far. I am far more organised than usual and this has given me lots of extra time to do other things in my daily life!
