Review: Validation Facial @ LUSH SPA

It’s been a hot minute since I wrote a review! In fact, I’m hoping to write a few more for this summer as I have been on and off product-testing. It’s nice to have an affinity again towards trying new products as my skin hasn’t been at its greatest since I come back from Hong Kong, taking the joy out of using new skincare for a while. I’m back to the norm now though or at the very least, close to my personal best. For those who follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my post regarding my spontaneous visit to LUSH for their spa services! Today, I’ll be feeding back on that experience and whether or not I recommend the treatment. Now, it’s important to note that not every LUSH has a spa – something you may have figured out already. It’s still a fairly new concept and as far as I’m aware, is available in the larger cities across the country and around the world. I first started using LUSH about 10 …

May Monthly Favourites | 2019

Oh how I wish it was May again! We are closer to July now but I hate missing Favourites so here it is in all its glory. I’m working on my June Monthly Favourites simultaneously too so you’ll probably end up seeing a lot of favourites in a narrow timeframe. In my last update, I had this idea to make my Favourites post themed from now on and a lot of you really warmed up to the idea which is great! Last month’s theme (technically not really last month, but we can pretend) was Tranquility. The theme for the month of April is: Intuition. Lately on Netflix #3

I used to watch a lot of drama series growing up. Now I am finding that I don’t have half as much time to watch the amount that I used to but I am cherishing it more. Both the time and content. Is this what getting older is about? 😅 (Today happens to be my birthday.) I try to watch dramas that have more substance to them – be it in storytelling or character development. Both? Even better. I suspect many internet users do this already but I have to research something before I begin watching (without the spoilers of course). There are a fair few where the trailer has peaked my interest, though I generally avoid longer trailers because they tend to spoil the whole story in 2 minutes. Here’s a list of my Netflix picks since my last update: Black Mirror (Season 5) I am actually very new to the whole Black Mirror world but I have heard many passing comments about its very nature so in some ways, I knew what I …

If We Were Having Coffee #3

(Or tea in this case.) It’s June: my birthday month. It doesn’t feel like June though. This time last year the sun was blistering for a good few weeks. We had quite a good summer actually – the hottest in all recent years reminiscent of how it was like in my childhood. I even took out my electric fan because my room gets super hot when it’s over 25 degrees. This year, it is a different story. We seem to be weirdly reversing back to winter again especially this week – averaging about 14 degrees! It’s doing well for my skin though so there’s that. I thought I would do a catch-up post because it’s been a while yet again. I may look to do a separate life update altogether but for now, let me update you on my current thoughts in a stream-of-consciousness style. If we were having coffee, I would tell you: This year has been a really tough year so far although it has gotten slightly easier. I am persevering though and …

Cultural Conversations #1: Where You Come From and Where You Really Come From

Hello and welcome to the first instalment of a brand new series on the blog titled Cultural Conversations. The initial idea of it probably began at the start of 2018 but it wasn’t until a month or so ago, where the name suddenly popped up in my head. Cultural. Conversations. It sounded extremely fitting so as a consequence, it stuck. Each instalment will cover something different, but the main basis for the starting point will be that I draw inspiration from my own personal experiences and/or thoughts to discuss a certain topic. These may be social, cultural, and perhaps political. There may be an opportunity to discuss beauty-related topics too, provided that they are within a social context and present a problem to discuss. (There are definitely many.) In this episode, I wanted to start with a topic close to home. Where you come from and where you really come from. Do your roots shape you as a person or can they threaten you if you are considered the less fortunate? What does it mean …
