December Monthly Favourites ft. LUSH, DIOR and Maybelline!

The last Favourites instalment of 2017 has come late but it is here! Not too many favourites for this month which I know is a bit strange because it’s supposed to be all festive and fancy but honestly, I was very au naturel throughout the month. I also didn’t try anything majorly new but I’ll be sure to have some new things to show you next month. 🙂

Featured in this post:

LUSH Pink Peppermint Foot Lotion
LUSH Oaty Creamy Dreamy Shower Cream
DIOR Miss Dior Eau de Parfum
Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer in ‘Light’
Because This Is my First Life (K-drama)

Feet is weird to talk about but let’s do it:

I know. How is it that I’m talking about a foot lotion on my blog? Why can’t I just use regular lotion for my feet? (Damn you marketing.) I bought LUSH Pink Peppermint Foot Lotion along with a foot mask at a time when my feet were really dry of which, if you have ever experienced this, it can be quite an uncomfortable experience and borderline-itchy too. That’s where the peppermint is kinda handy – because it counteracts that itchiness. The formula is pink too which is quite amusing. After just one application, I could feel the effects of the cream right away and though I don’t think I’d repurchase this in a heartbeat because price, it is worth having in the winter cupboard.

My current skin obsession with oats is not over yet:

I talked fondly of LUSH Dream Cream, and now I shall talk of its sister: LUSH Oaty Creamy Dreamy Shower Cream. It smells exactly like Dream Cream which is handy because I really love the scent! It really just smells of oats, in a friendly, warming, homely way. This is excellent if you don’t care for fancy scents in your shower. Speaking of – I am not someone who buys fancy products for the shower but I can make this one an exception. Unlike the Happy Hippy Shower Gel that I didn’t care for, the formula is entirely different: more creamy, easier to dispense and moisturising.

This will always be my go-to perfume:

You may be thinking…if this is my go-to perfume, then why am I only talking about it now? I stopped using perfume at some point for a while, and then I’m sure that throughout December, I revisited this old classic of mine everyday. It is the DIOR Miss Dior Eau de Parfum. Dior perfumes are generally quite citrusy and energising but nothing OTT. I’m over halfway through and although pricey, I’d buy another one! This just always stays on my skin and clothes – the lasting power is ridiculously good (I still smell it on my clothes the next day) and I just find that the perfume always lifts my mood up. 😀

It took a while to try but this is most certainly worth the hype!:

At some point, everyone talked about the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer in ‘Light’ and finally, I got my hands on one a few months ago. I’m halfway through now and I have to say that I really, really like it. The colour is a good match – not too pink or orange which tends to be the problem for me with some concealers. The part where I think makes it special and consistently good is the sponge applicator. It just layers well on top of the skin where it can still breathe, and better yet, it doesn’t crease or cake which is a pet-peeve of mine.

Next, I will have to grab the Fit Me Concealer to try!

A rare gem in TV writing:

This is the last series that I finished in 2017, titled Because This Is my First Life. I wouldn’t exactly call it a romantic comedy…instead, I’d say it’s a really good slice-of-life drama. There were just so many good lines and references in the script – I thought it was incredibly well-written by someone who took to really experiencing life and wanted to give their perspective and other perspectives that people have in life through the characters. The primary theme is marriage – what is marriage?, what is a relationship? and so forth. It sounds deep but the way it is told is really lighthearted and relatable. I’d definitely recommend. 🙂

This feels like my shortest Favourites list in a while or is it just me? Please let me know what yours have been and I’d be sure to check them out! Have a great day. 🙂

  1. I have a sample of Miss Dior that I haven’t opened, I’m going to have to give it a whirl. The LUSH foot products habe always intrigued me but I’ve not tried them. Lovely picks!

    • I am rubbish with describing scents but I think the top note is Mandarin, and the under notes are floral. It’s a scent I could truly smell all day! I am generally in love with a lot of Dior perfumes – no other perfumes come close for me, they are my bias. 😛

  2. I don’t like FEET but I like to pamper mine though. 😛 The Lush foot lotion sounds perfect – I haven’t seen this here but I’m sure it’s just the case of me not paying attention.

I’m so glad you’ve hopped on the Maybelline Age Rewind bandwagon! Personally, I’m not a fan of the Fit Me – people say it’s comparable to Nars but to me NOPE. Fit Me has way less coverage and poor lasting power.

    • I still haven’t tried the Nars either, although my best friend loves it! I did try to get the Fit Me a few months ago but out of stock in my colour. 😦 But yes! the Age Rewind is awesome and will be an easy repurchase. 😀

  3. Talking about foot products isn’t bad, a girl needs to take care of her feet! I know I should judge, but what grosses me out is seeing people wear sandals in the summer with super dry, cracked heels!
Oooh Miss Dior is always a classic scent – it’s been a long time since I’ve used it, but now your post has made me want to repurchase a bottle!
The Maybelline Age Rewind is an oldie but a goodie! Haven’t tried the Fit Me concealer, though.

    • Hahaha thanks for putting that gross image of feet inside my head 🤣😩😩 but I completely know what you mean!! Do you have any perfume go-tos? 😊

Will definitely repurchase the Age Rewind!

  4. I loved Because This is My First Life! I was surprised because it initially didn’t seem like something I’d be interested in, I watched it out of boredom and was hooked instantly. I found it so relatable and funny. 🙂

    • So nice that you watch k-drama too! I don’t follow everything…actually I feel that I have gotten more picky with what I watch and try and pick things that I will really, really like. I didn’t know what to expect from this one but so refreshing and so well-written! Really, the writers did a tremendous job.

      • Same! It takes me forever to find things to watch but I started using Viki and it makes it easy since they have so many options. It’s also a bit more fun since people’s comments show up on the screen at the moment they are referring too.

      • Oh I don’t use Viki but I have heard of it. Is it free? I watch on Dramanice but I know what you mean about the comments – it’s fun seeing people’s reactions or just generally talking about the episode. 🙂

      • It is but with ads, for the $4.99 premium you get a couple of exclusive dramas and no ads. The only thing is that it is community centered so volunteers subtitle the new episodes so you have to wait for them after it’s released if you aren’t a fluent speaker. I’ll have to look into Dramanice
