The Sunday Catch-Up #3 | Where Am I Going Next?

I realise that it has been three months since we last checked in with each other, so I figured it was time to do another update. It’s been a really rainy weekend which sucks if you had plans for going out, but great for the likes of me who likes staying in sometimes to write! (In fact, it’s the perfect weather to write in, ha.)

I like writing these types of posts because it helps me juggle my mind a bit more and lets me know where I am with myself. So as much as it’s a post for you as a reader, it’s also a post for myself, therapeutically. It’s funny but sometimes I don’t even know what’s on my mind!

I have been thinking about getting self-hosted for a while (something that I’m still so confused about actually); but the one thing that has been stopping me is my blogging consistency.

Although I don’t think I’m where I need to be yet,  I do feel positive with all the content that I have put out since September. That leads me to question – does it really matter that I’m not posting as consistently? Quality over quantity, right?

There are some weeks where I’m not inspired to write at all and it becomes a bit of a chore (I hate that word); then other weeks where I’m totally inspired and finish more than one blog post. I guess the challenge for me now is to find a medium between the two extremes and set a solid schedule in place where I can be consistent, but post quality content.

I’m Going Away…Twice!

I wish I had wrote this post sooner just so I could announce this more in the moment, but I’ll be going away in September for a few days, and in February for a few weeks! Yes – these two vacations are both booked and in fact – were both booked on the same day. (All about spontaneity eh.)

It sounds crazy, but actually we knew we would be going away for a city break later in the year. This time, we chose Berlin. In February, we’ll be going to Hong Kong for a few weeks which is more tradition since we go back every 2/3 years to visit family. This time, we’re going back to celebrate Chinese New Year in style!

Now that I’ve mentioned both these holidays, I realise how I should cut back on my spending these upcoming months. That’ll be quite the challenge!

Sometimes Things Happen For Good Reason and It All Becomes Full Circle

I’m not religious by any means but I do believe that if it’s meant to be, it will be whether in reward or in karma, or even nothing depending on what you put in. I know it’s easy to cheer someone on but absolutely hard to always cheer yourself on, but you just learn to be patient, carry on working hard or change routes if need be. It’s almost too good to be true sometimes, but when it becomes full circle, you realise maybe your original plan really wasn’t the best after all.

I’m currently having one of those moments. Have you ever planned your life in a certain way? Even if just loosely? It almost never works out that way, but you just have to give yourself the benefit of the doubt and take the risk so wish me luck! (I know I’m being vague but maybe I will leave this aspect for a full blog post instead.)

What has been going on in your life that you’re happy to share? Have you got any upcoming plans/events/challenges? 🙂

    • Thank you for the encouraging comment! It’s just a strange time but am sure there will be many more to come 😉 sometimes we just want the reassurance from others even though the answer is really obvious! 🙂

      • Well that’s what blogs are for, learning and growing. And you need to trust your inner voice, if it don’t feel right then don’t do it xx 🌟🌌

  2. So envious of your upcoming trips. 🙂 Chinese New Year in Hong Kong would be AMAZING!

I totally understand what you mean about sometimes feeling like writing a blog post feels like a chore. I think it’s about balance. Don’t let what other people do dictate what you do. 🙂

    • I’m so excited for my upcoming trips!! Which has given me more motivation to save and not buy a lot of beauty items (unless I absolutely need them) until then!

Aw thank you Stashy for the well-meaning comment 🙂 Yes, I think I just need to find the balance and schedule and I’ll be on my way to blogging fever, haha.
