Happy Easter everyone!
The sun is out. Or rather the sun has been out and in case you didn’t know, UK people really treasure the sun when it’s out! Where I live in particular can have a tendency to rain or just be doom of gloom so people take advantage of it to enjoy the sunshine and outdoors because really…how often is the weather this nice? (Not often at all!)
The sun doesn’t go down now until about 8pm which has given me a huge energy boost hence the title of this post. Anyone else? This surge of power is giving me countless of ideas and inspiration for projects this coming season that I thought it’d be nice to check in with you all. Think of this as a mini what’s (been) going on? type of post that I’m happy to share with you all today! 🙂
Long, sunny days remind me of summer…which makes me feel young
Okay, I’m not actually old. I mean, I am still young in my mind and my heart 😉 but what I really mean is, when the season changes over to longer days, it reminds me of my school youth – namely the summer holidays. Long days (and nights) of hanging out with friends, not necessarily doing much but really enjoying life. It’s super nice just to feel free and not have a worry in the world. Since when did humans get so complicated anyway? Probably the moment when we all started having too much.
My favourite thing to do lately is go for long walks and then have a cup of coffee by the end of it. 🙂 It’s the simple things!
Here’s a couple of photographs that I took at a local park that’s about 10-15 minute drive away from my house:
There’s no better time to watch a melodrama than this season
The winter can feel dark and depressing, right? So naturally, people do the opposite things to counteract those feelings that can stem negative. For example, you grab a hot beverage to feel warmer or you turn on the light when it’s getting dark. For me, I’ve been watching a Korean melodrama Uncontrollably Fond and although I mostly only watch this late at night before I go to sleep, it’s slightly more comfortable to watch when it’s not-so-cold.
By the time you read this, I would’ve finished the drama series, and I can already tell you it’s probably the best series I’ve seen in a while. Yes it’s sad but it seems that I like to have a good cry once in a blue moon! On a serious note, the story is tragic yet beautiful, the characters are flawed but extremely realistic and memorable. Recommend! To me, this is a modern-day-Shakespearean type story and that’s a real compliment.
Even the OST is perfect. Here’s just one of the songs I keep listening to! ^
Being healthy/fit has become a natural curiosity
If you have been following me for a while now, you may have seen my Reset: 7 Changes I’m Making in 2017 post. I’m actually doing pleasantly okay with the list but one thing that has really become lit this month is my desire and determination to be healthier, fitter and stronger. I feel that that has always been a bit of a struggle especially when it comes to exercise, as I am very inconsistent.
I don’t know if this is a thing that’s ‘come with age’ (I can’t believe I’m even saying that…) but the past year, or at least the past 6 months has been the biggest learning curve. I started reading more fitness articles, watching ‘What I Eat In A Day’ videos on YouTube, envying strangers’ meals on Instagram…my involvement with health and fitness just started to grow. (I’ll write a separate post on this?)
Lately, I’ve been eating out healthily (yes, it’s possible!) and trying out simple recipes in the kitchen. I’m hoping to achieve more of the latter aspect along with exercising consistently. 🙂 It’s not even the aesthetic that I’m after, but now more than ever, I really care about my well-being. I guess there just comes a time in your life when you think ‘enough is enough’ with any bad habit, big or small. What do you think?
