It feels like forever since I last did a monthly favourites for some reason. Maybe it’s because this month feels extra long even though it’s been eventful! As some of you may know, I went to Rome for a few days mid-March which was fantastic although funnily enough, that feels like a time away now. (Check out my previous post on it here and here.)
What have you been up to?
The season is finally changing and I can’t wait to wear more Spring-appropriate clothes. (I just come back from shopping actually!) But for now, check out my recent favourites that is welcoming Spring with a bang!
Featured in this post:
Zara Woman Jeans (1975 Ripped Mid-Rise Jeans and Mid-Rise Skinny Jeans)
Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil
Clinique Moisture Surge
Earth Therapeutics Brightening Black Pearl Mask
Eucerin Mattifying Sun Fluid SPF 50+
MAC Lipstick in Fanfare (Cremesheen Finish)
Zara Woman Jeans (1975 Ripped Mid-Rise Jeans and Mid-Rise Skinny Jeans): Okay. So I suppose a pair of jeans or two aren’t that Spring but I really have been enjoying both these pairs of jeans. They might actually be the best jeans I’ve ever worn/bought. They fit like a glove on me! I actually find it a bit more difficult to shop for bottoms than tops because either the fit can be funny or they can look really unflattering. But both these jeans tick the boxes for me. There’s a bit of stretch in both pairs so it’s not ‘hard denim’…these actually hug the curves of your legs which is why I think they’re so flattering and comfortable!
Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil: I purchased this over a month ago to try out since I was noticing my spidey senses for Clinique products tingling again. (Seriously, I love the brand.) Their cleansing balm is my favourite but I thought for once that I should try the oil version since many people talk of it too. I can’t say I love this more than the balm but I do really like it. I find it very comfortable to use and it’s not at all messy to use like some cleansing oils can be. Most importantly, it’s non-drying and my skin feels clean after using it.
Clinique Moisture Surge: Another Clinique product you say? Yes, I say! I’m really glad I like this for a start because I’m so used to using the Dramatically Different moisturisers instead which are classic favourites of mine. As the weather is getting a lot more comfortable and a bit warmer, this is super nice to use – especially in the night. It is so soothing and cooling! It’s very much like water for the skin. If you have combination/oily skin – I say give it a try! 🙂
Earth Therapeutics Brightening Black Pearl Mask: I bought a pack of this mask a while ago at TK Maxx and did try it once before Christmas. I remember it being good but I didn’t really review it. When I went away to Rome, I took 2 of these masks with me, and they were a lifesaver! This feels really nice on the skin and the sheet mask itself is a good material and not overly drenched with the serum. The fit (on my face) is also good but of course, this is personal. I can’t say whether this mask works for brightening but it definitely re-hydrates the skin!
Eucerin Mattifying Sun Fluid SPF 50+: I’ve been a lot more fluent with applying sunscreen everyday in the last year! claps So far, Eucerin hasn’t failed to impress me. I feel like it’s quite difficult to buy sunscreen under £10 so it does mean spending a bit of money on this front – but it’s really worth it. This one in particular is lovely to apply on the skin – non-sticky, non-greasy, more like a thin, milky texture. Over skincare, under makeup – it’s perfect! The one thing I’d say is I don’t think it’s that mattifying, it’s more semi-mattifying to me so I usually just finish with powder to take off some shine.
LUSH Ultrabland: An oldie but a goodie! I don’t think I’ve actually talked about this product here though. I de-potted some of this into a small pot to take with me to Rome as my ‘makeup remover’ and it worked well for that. I don’t use this too often in my skincare routine – it’s more of an occasional pick-me-up if I want something different. But it’s wonderful and even works great for people with blemished skin!
MAC Lipstick in Fanfare (Cremesheen Finish): Well, of course I had to include a lipstick to welcome Spring, right? I think I purchased this back in February when I was purposefully looking for a pink lipstick. I was looking at shades such as Angel and Modesty but they didn’t really suit me – they made me look dead! The SA suggested Fanfare to me (honestly, shoutout to the SAs for always choosing the right shades for me) and it was a hit! It’s described as a mid-tone yellow pink that’s a lot more forgivable on me. It’s quite a my lips but better lipstick with enough colour to boost your mood – in other words, it’s not intimidating! I love the texture and the colour so much that it’s definitely one to stay in my makeup bag this season!
