September Monthly Favourites ft. Benefit, Ecotools + Bobbi Brown

It’s fall time!

I couldn’t be happier. I think it’s actually my favourite season. Overall, I just prefer the cold: having sweater weather and drinking hot chocolate 🙂 How does everyone feel about this season?

I happen to have a lot of favourites this month so let’s begin.

From the Top:
Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil (in 6)
Benefit’s Porefessional Face Primer
Ecotools Starter Set
Bobbi Brown’s Sheer Finish Pressed Powder in Pale Yellow
Isehan’s Heroine Make Long and Curl Mascara
MAC See Sheer Lipstick in Lustre Finish
My Beauty Diary Hyaluronic Acid Face Mask

I find filling brows as easy as 1,2,3 now: £18.50 is a very steep price to pay for a brow product I know. I hated myself for such purchase too, but the Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil (in 6) does not disappoint! I have jet black hair so I get scared in finding colours to match because in the past, they have appeared too dark. But this is very natural and just-right. The thin nib makes it immediately easy to use even if you’re a brow rookie like me!

I use a primer that I don’t actually hate: Traditionally, I don’t use primers. I have tried 3 different ones  before and wasn’t completely sold on them yet. (FYI – I hated the silicon feel of one of them.) Is using primer just an unnecessary step? Benefit’s Porefessional Face Primer has convinced me otherwise. It is silky feeling without being tacky. It’s oil-free. It actually does minimise my pores (something I’ve always struggled with) and keeps my foundation in place for longer in my oily zones.

I now own brushes other than Real Techniques: I purchased this Ecotools Starter Set and have used 3 of those brushes daily. The Lash and Brow Groomer which means less need to use a spoolie. The Blush Brush which I might actually prefer to RT – just more precise application. Lastly, the Angled Liner Brush which I sometimes use for filling brows – a lot better than RT’s which is not flat enough.

I’m not an oily mess anymore: This is thanks to Bobbi Brown’s Sheer Finish Pressed Powder in Pale Yellow. I have been wanting to get this for months but each time I went in-store to find it, it was sold out. Third time lucky though. Couple months ago when I sampled their foundation, the assistant used this to finish. Towards the end of the night, I noticed how good everything still looked. Beautiful finish and great oil control sold me! The compact is also so satisfying to snap shut.

I have lashes now! That don’t look lame!: A few months ago, I had purchased Isehan’s Heroine Make Long and Curl Mascara but was waiting for my Dollywink Long Mascara to run out (a favourite). This might actually be my new favourite mascara. It defines  and lengthens every single lash from root to tip that is ‘not quite there yet’. Want to know something else? It is super waterproof.

My lipstick obsession is happening and there’s a pattern: It took me a long time to get into buying lipstick, choosing the right colour and actually wearing it. But I’m here. My very recent purchase is MAC See Sheer Lipstick in Lustre Finish which is perfect for daily use, but still with a bit of colour! It is described as a ‘grapefruit pink’ which I realise I have a few similar sister shades to. But I guess that’s just my signature colour now?

The season is changing and my skin has been thirsty: This isn’t a new find or new purchase because I’ve always been a fan of My Beauty Diary Face Masks. Whenever I go back to Hong Kong, I am guaranteed to buy two boxes at least! They’re cheap and cheerful too. But lately, my skin really has been dehydrated due to the weather change, making it look duller than usual. My Beauty Diary Hyaluronic Acid Face Mask has helped it each time to replenish moisture and re-balance my skin again.

Have you tried any of these products?
